It’s Easier Than You Think To Learn Guitar Songs
There was a time when the best do-it-yourself- guitar book was Mel Bay. There were pages and pictures of cords along with some very simple songs and progressions to get you started. However, it was really pretty boring. If you got through the first book then you were looking at theory and scales when what you really wanted to do was to learn to play guitar songs like “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin or “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple!
Learning to play songs on the guitar is easier then ever with lessons that are delivered to you over the internet. One of the greatest teaching tools is the videos that come with the lessons. To be able to hear what it should sound like and see someone actually fingering the cord and doing the scale progression is invaluable.
The other thing that is great about these types of lessons is the time commitment. You can go to a local teacher to take your guitar playing to the next level and be totally overwhelmed by the time commitment that is expected. A grown man with a full time job and family does not have 2 to 3 hours a day they can completely devote to practice like many teenagers can. This is not to say that they didn’t wish they had that kind of time to devote to it. By taking lessons you can control let’s you go at your own pace.
It also let’s you jump in at your particular skill level from beginner to advanced or do only the type of guitar playing you choose such as playing just rhythm guitar or learn guitar solos. You can also adapt the lessons to include different genres such as jazz, rock or blues guitar or different types of guitars like electric, bass or acoustic.
Having lessons delivered to you puts you in the drivers seat to learn guitar songs first, lead solos first or learn bass guitar. Personally, I like having the choice and think it’s a great way to learn guitar fast.
